Welcome to the Black Belt registry for Shuyokan Ryu Martial Arts. This site is primarily for the Yudansha (Black Belts) of Shuyokan. If you require more information about the dojo please visit the website (here) and/or send a message through this website's contact form (here)

If someone is listed on this site, they have put in at least three years in the pursuit of a ranking of Shodan (1st degree Black Belt) in Aikido, Aiki Jitsu, and/or Taiho Jitsu

All students are required to not only test at every level of belt accomplishment from white belt on, but to also put in a minimum of 100 hours to be eventually allowed to test for Black Belt rank.

As can be imagined, these tests are grueling and require discipline and study to achieve.

But, as many members of the dojo have expressed, Shodan (1st degree Black Belt) is really just the first step on the journey. Many more years of learning, teaching and testing much be accomplished after that.

The men and women here are true disciples of martial arts.
